Last weekend we went to Salperton, a lovely event only ten minutes down the road from us. We took Bruvver and Tiko for the Intermediate, and Ted and Cooley for the NRF and Novice.
Tiko was back to his best in his first run after Badminton, finishing just outside the placings (11th) with a great double clear. Bruvver was not having his best day though, and had one too many show jumps down.
Kathryn was riding Cooley, who has just come back from Italy after having been sold. The reason is not easy to explain (money), but anyway, he was a really good boy to score a 26 in the dressage. He had a couple of rails show jumping and jumped a steady clear across country. I’m sure he will be back to his best soon.
With Ted I had the last chance to get qualified for the Novice Championship at Gatcombe.
He did a good test to score a 31, but had three unlucky rails show jumping despite jumping a nice round overall. He gave me a lovely clear across country. Unfortunately we didn’t get the qualification but I’m sure that he is a lovely horse and we haven’t see his best yet.
