Aston-le-Walls (2)

It was an Aston of highs and lows!!! I was there on Thursday with four horses in the Intermediate. My new ride Mistralou did a 33 in the dressage, had two poles down in the show jumping and jumped a fab clear cross country round. I was really happy how he went – I’m still getting to know him, and hopefully we can leave all the poles up in the show jumping next time.

Cult Rewind did a 32 dressage, clear show jumping and I wanted to ride him slow around the cross country as he has Rockingham CIC** next week, but Hero had other ideas and wanted to go fast. We had a parting of company but I got back on him and finished the course.

Platoon was the star of the day doing a 31 in the dressage and jumping a double clear, finishing 2nd. I’m really happy with how much he is improving, and excited for the future with him!!!

Bruvver did his best dressage test of a 30, but the show jumping did not go to plan. Going back home with a lot of home work to do with!!!

We returned to Aston on the Friday for the Novice. I had another new ride, Sallybog Tim. He did a good dressage scoring 31 then had an unlucky pole in the show jumping and a good clear cross country round. We finished just out of the rosettes, but really happy with our run together!!

Kathryn was riding her two six year olds. Cooley Eclipse did a 34 in the dressage and then jumped a fab double clear to finish 10th. Billy the Red did a great dressage test of 27.5 and jumped double clear to win his section!!! Kathryn was really happy with them both, they are improving and growing up at every competition – they are both very exciting young horses with huge potential.
