Barroca d’Alva

Barroca was a fantastic event and the people are so welcoming. It was great to go for both weekends… The first event was a CIC2* which we used as a schooling round in preparation for the second weekend. It was a perfect event to start the season with. We were really happy with how all the horses ran and travelled there and back home.

Kathryn and Let It Bee finished 7th in the CCI3*, getting their qualification for Rio which was the main reason why we travelled all that way. Dacapo also has got his qualification to go advanced which he did in style, placing 7th in the CCI2*.

Oplitas was meant to be in the CCI3*, but I found out before we left that Italy had got their three spots for the Olympics so there was no need for me to do it for the points – instead I did the CIC3* with him where he finished 5th. I was really happy with how he ran, especially with his dressage which is improving. All three will have a few quiet weeks before starting the event season in England.

Both Let It Bee and Oplitas have been entered for Badminton which is exciting and scary – Hopefully we will get in!
