I had Oplitas in the CCI3*. He did a great test, I was really happy as he stayed very calm and very rideable.
I was looking forward to the cross country, it was a big and beefy course which you really had to ride. Oplitas started off great and felt really on it. At fence 5 he lost a front shoe, and I tried to carry on but it became clear that we couldn’t as he kept on losing his footing. At fence 8, which was a turning combination, we slipped really badly which made us lose our line and we could not make the final part of the combination. I made the decision to pull him up, as it was unfair on him to try and carry on. I was very gutted but we live to fight another day!!!!
