First to Little Downham where both Billy Hennessy and Duke of Champion had good runs under Giovanni in the 4*S, finishing 6th and 11th respectively. Swirly Temptress did a good dressage but was not run across country.
Osberton was very successful weekend. Gio had Kimbal in the seven-year-old class, the pair jumping double clear for 17th place – a great prep run ahead of Le Lion d’Angers.
Hidden Victory contested the five-year-old class, lying in the top five after dressage. He flew round the cross country, fastest of the day, but an unlucky pole down on the last day cost them a top 10 finish – very exciting horse for the future.
