Sapey (1)

Gio & Kathryn went to Sapey with Pluto, Blue, Bond and Becks for Kathryn to ride, while Gio had Jack and Compagnon O, all contesting BE100 sections.

Kathryn was really busy all day with 3 first timers and Blue on his first proper outing of the season. Bond did a really good dressage test to score a 24, was a bit green in the show jumping to roll a couple of rails, and then amazing across country until he decided that he didn’t like the water jump….. Despite that Gio & Kathryn were still pleased with him, even if he was a bit cheeky, considering that was his first event ever.

Pluto was a really good boy….. He did a good dressage test for him to score 39, jumped really well in the show jumping and was a machine cross country to finish just outside the placings. Becks was great in his dressage too, scoring a 30. He rolled a couple of show jumps and was quite green across country – but Blue was the star of the day! He scored a 33 in his dressage and jumped a classy double clear to finish 4th in a competitive section.

Gio had Jack out for their first proper outing together this season: “I’m really pleased with him. He was focussed and concentrated in his dressage to score a 29, had a show jump down (rider error) and jumped an amazing clear cross country (a bit too fast…..) to finish just outside the placings,” Gio said.

Compagnon was quite full of himself in all three phases to score a 38 in the dressage, had two show jumps down but redeemed himself with a great clear cross country.

The next outing for them will be Whitfield.
